We are pleased to welcome to our firm Arielle S. Anderson, Eric R. Thiergood Sr., Megan L. Reinkemeyer, Michael W. McLoughlin, Janice M. Culotta, Tammy B. Scelfo, Gordon D. Polozola, and Laura S. Rahman.

Arielle S. Anderson joined the firm as an associate in our Houston office and practices with the energy and environmental litigation group. Prior to joining the firm, Arielle clerked for Judge Brian A. Jackson at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana and for Chief Judge Kathy Surratt-States at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Missouri. Arielle earned her B.A. from Tulane University in 2010 and her J.D./D.C.L., cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2017, where she was a member of the Journal of Energy Law and Resources.

Eric R. Thiergood, Sr.  joined the firm as a partner in our office in The Woodlands and practices in the business, corporate, and real estate groups.  Eric is a trusted advisor to business leaders throughout The Woodlands and greater Houston areas, bringing more than 13 years of sophisticated business, corporate, and real estate experience to clients ranging from banks and real estate developers to business owners and executives. He earned his BSW from Midwestern State University in 1995 and earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2006.

Megan L. Reinkemeyer rejoined the firm as senior counsel in our Houston office and practices with the commercial litigation and energy and environmental litigation group. Prior to rejoining the firm, Megan was in private practice and also served as a staff attorney for Texas’s Fourteenth Court of Appeals. Megan earned her B.A., cum laude, from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2006, and she earned her J.D./D.C.L., magna cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2009, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.

Michael W. McLoughlin joined the firm as of counsel in our New Orleans office and practices with the state and local tax group. Mike has over 30 years of state and local tax experience, including in private practice, as in-house counsel and in state government. Prior to joining Kean Miller, Mike was a Director, Mergers & Acquisitions, with KPMG in New York. Mike earned his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1985 and earned his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1988.

Janice M. Culotta rejoined the firm as senior counsel in our New Orleans office and practices with the toxic tort, occupational exposure, and commercial litigation groups. Prior to rejoining the firm, Janice practiced with a local defense firm and was an Assistant District Attorney for the Parish of Orleans, where she gained extensive trial and courtroom experience. Janice earned her B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1973, her M.Ed. from the University of New Orleans in 1984, and her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1994.

Tammy B. Scelfo joined the firm as a partner in our Lafayette office and practices with the business, corporate, banking, and real estate groups. She is one of Acadiana’s leading business attorneys, assisting clients with all manner of corporate entity formations, commercial loan transactions, real estate matters, title issuance, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. Tammy earned her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1988 and her J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1993, where she was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and Order of the Coif.

Gordon D. Polozola rejoined the firm as a partner in our Baton Rouge office and practices with the utilities regulation group. Gordon has over 25 years of expertise in electricity, natural gas pipelines, and telecommunications. Prior to rejoining the firm, Gordon served as vice president and regional general counsel for a major independent power producer in the Southeast, and as executive vice president and general counsel to a private equity infrastructure firm located in Houston. Gordon earned his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1992 and his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1995, where he served as Senior Editor of the Louisiana Law Review, was a member of the Order of the Coif, and a member of the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame.

Laura S. Rahman joined the firm as senior counsel in our Houston office and practices with the toxic tort, occupational exposure, and commercial litigation groups. Laura’s practice focuses on the defense of clients in toxic tort and product liability cases with considerable emphasis on asbestos, benzene, and silica exposure. She earned her B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1992 and her J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1995.
